1 Cherry Blossom

Many years ago I visited the Shrine at Nara in Japan as the cherry blossom swirled around and covered the ground. In the pink whiteness the deer known as the Buddhas messengers tamely strolled with the crowds of pilgrims.

To make these pieces we add white and then the dark cane branches the petals in pink and white and then a strap of various greens and white define the “ground”.

The simplest ideas seem to work best in most things and that is certainly true with glass the colours react with each other in the heat of the glory hole and the result so often is 2 plus 2 =5.

5 Cherry Blossom

No colour seems happy on its own and there is a sense of delight in combinations of Sargasso green and this opaque pink. 0ne feels that there might easily be a conflict if they associate too closely.
